ABAG Member: United Way raises $110K for Ellicott City flood victims

The United Way of Central Maryland has raised more than $110,000 got humanitarian relief in Ellicott City.

The money was raised from local corporations and more than 700 individual donors.

The United Way of Central Maryland said 100 percent of the donations will go to humanitarian relief for Ellicott City and those affected by the flooding. United Way will work with the county government and others to allocate funds.

United Way of Central Maryland established the ECStrong Fund at the request of Howard County Executive Allan Kittleman.

The viewers and listeners of WBAL-TV 11 News, WBAL NewsRadio 1090 AM, and 98 Rock raised $18,000 for Ellicott City victims during a fundraiser at Hightopps Backstage Grille. You can buy an "I love EC" T-shirt here

The Baltimore Ravens are also pitching in by donating $10,000 to the United Way's ECStrong Fund.
