Student Wholeness is one of the three focus areas outlined in Baltimore City Schools' Blueprint for Success. According to City Schools, a Student Wholeness focus means recognizing that students are unique people with unique experiences, talents, challenges, and social, emotional, and physical lives. To do this work well will require schools and the central office to create engaging, safe, and supportive environments that foster well-being and meet academic, social, emotional, and physical needs of students. To meet this goal, City Schools has partnered with CASEL, The Collaborative for Academic, Social, Emotional Learning. This partnership will support City Schools in analyzing its current social and emotional learning (SEL) landscape, identifying key partners and programs to support student needs, building coherent support systems and  comprehensive SEL curriculum, and providing development to school-based and district-level staff to ground staff, students, and stakeholders in a common framework and goals for the social and emotional development of students.
Join us on Wednesday, November 8 to learn more about City Schools' commitment to social emotional learning.  We will be joined by:
  • Melissa Schlinger- CASEL, Vice President of Practice and Programs
  • Sean Conley, City Schools, Chief Academic Officer
  • Sarah WarrenCity Schools, Executive Director of Student Wholeness (new position)

This program is for ABAG members and invited guests only.  Lunch will be served.
