Malcolm and Sandra Berman Named Philanthropists of the Year
Malcolm Berman was undergoing treatment for cancer 13 years ago when he made a decision. "I swore if I ever survived, I would do everything to give back to a city that has helped me so much," Berman told the audience Tuesday at the annual Philanthropy Day luncheon at the Marriott Waterfront in Baltimore.
Also honored at the event was the Philip E. and Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation as the 2015 Outstanding Foundation of the Year.
This year's Maryland Business Philanthropy Awards, given by the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and the Baltimore Business Journal, were Rosenberg Martin Greenberg LLP law firm, Symphony Placements and Baltimore Gas and Electric Co.
