Maryland Nonprofits is gearing up for another record-breaking Giving Tuesday effort this year with Maryland Gives More 2015 on Dec. 1.

Maryland Gives More is building off last year’s very successful first statewide Giving Tuesday effort that raised over $9 Million and dubbed Maryland "The Most Generous State in America on Giving Tuesday.”

Maryland Nonprofits has again partnered with umbrella organizations, foundations, corporations, smalls businesses, development professionals and over 425 nonprofits for Maryland Gives More 2015, with the goal of raising over $10 Million to support communities across the state. Maryland Nonprofits is coordinating the effort to convene every organization participating in Giving Tuesday in the state — and count every dollar raised.

This is not entirely new to our region. In 2013, Baltimore organized the second-biggest fundraiser in the nation called Bmore Gives More, recognizing more than $5 million in giving in just one day.

Foundations, corporate givers, funders, nonprofits and individuals are spreading the word to help fund hundreds of organizations raising dollars and awareness for their cause.

Whether an everyday giver, a corporate giver, a foundation, fund, or a small business, there are opportunities to get involved, activate social networks and help make this effort a success. A number of businesses and corporate funders participated in a variety of ways last year, and there are numerous opportunities for the Maryland funding community to engage this year.

How you can get involved?

  • Announce end-of-year grants on Tuesday
  • Promote Maryland Gives More through your networks
  • Encourage your grantees to participate
  • Provide matching grants to nonprofits participating
  • Give to the nonprofits, issues and causes you care about Tuesday

Here’s how to learn more:

We look forward to seeing how the Maryland funding community will participate again this year in Maryland Gives More.
