Is your foundation well suited to navigate the complexity of security challenges present today? Grantmakers need to be concerned about the ongoing threats of viruses and spyware and spam, as well as advanced persistent threats especially to wireless and mobile security.

Recognizing that many foundations have limited in-house technical expertise, we invited two experts on IT security to provide ABAG members with guidance about:

  • proactive steps to take to increase security for your data and information technology systems;
  • questions to ask an IT consultant, what systems and protocols to have in place, and how to prepare for a crisis; and
  • next steps you can take and further resources on this topic.

Our speakers will be:

Matthew Eshleman, Chief Technology Officer at Community IT Innovators. Matthew is responsible for shaping Community IT’s strategy in assessing and recommending technology solutions to clients. With a deep background in network infrastructure technology he fundamentally understands how technology works and interoperates both in the office and in the cloud. Matt is a frequent speaker at NTEN events and has presented at the Inside NGO conference and Non-Profit Risk Management Summit.

Carole Taylor, Vice President of Technology for The Associated. With more than 10 years at the organization, Carole oversees all technology for The Associated and its agencies including the Donor Customer Service Center. In this role, Carole develops and executes strategic plans to ensure technology continues to meet the changing needs of The Associated.

Please note any questions you have on this topic when you register!
