Civic Works' Baltimore Center for Green Careers has a new initiative underway! On this site visit, we will meet the first participants in the region’s first ever Stormwater Installation and Maintenance Technician training and certification program. The Center for Watershed Protection is piloting a training module for ANSI accreditation, with plans to disseminate nationally. Civic Works partners with employers, who historically have struggled to hire qualified workers. The program also supports the growth of the region’s green economy and addresses the need for quality standards in storm water installation practices.

During this site visit, we will tour the classroom and hands-on lab spaces, meet participants and program staff, and learn how graduates prepare to install best practices that reliably reduce local flooding and divert polluted water from the Bay. Workforce and environmental funders will share perspectives.

This site visit is for ABAG members and invited guests only. We will meet on-site. Carpools may be arranged, if requested.
