ABAG's Guide for Funding Basic Human Needs in a Challenging Economy
To inform the funding community about the scale and scope of need among Central Marylanders, the Association of Baltimore Area Grantmakers has produced the Guide for Funding Basic Human Needs in a Challenging Economy, which focuses on eight areas critical to maintaining self sufficiency, which suffer during an economic downturn.

Baltimore Homeownership Preservation Coalition

A coalition of public and private funders, lenders and nonprofit practitioners that work collaboratively to develop and implement key programs and policies to reduce the incidence of foreclosure and high cost lending in Baltimore.

America's Nonprofits Brace for Tough 2010, the Nonprofit Finance Fund, March 2010. Survey of 1,300+ nonprofit professionals expect that 2010 will be financially more difficult or as difficult as 2009.

Smarter Grantmaking in Challenging Economic Times - This briefing on the economy from Grantmakers for Effective Organizations provides concrete strategies and considerations to guide decisions about how best to support grantees in these trying economic times.

How to Handle Underwater Funds

Impact of the 2007-09 Economic Recession on Nonprofit Organizations, released by the Johns Hopkins Center for Civil Society Studies' Listening Post Project, is a nation-wide survey of nonprofit organizations working in the fields of children and family services, elderly housing and services, education, community and economic development and the arts.
